Threaded Inserts For Wood Miters

A threaded knob extending through the clamp bracket adjusts the pivot guide for easy adjustment, and if used for miter joints, the guide can be fine-tuned to cut perfectly tight joints.

Another benefit of using threaded inserts is making assembly easy and/or tight and angled. No glue connections will be broken or damage caused when disassembling.

Our threaded inserts are available in metric and standard sizes and are suitable for both hardwood and softwood.

Threaded inserts are difficult to insert directly into pilot holes. This is a foolproof solution. First, cut off the heads of the machine bolts and thread the nuts onto them. Clip the bolt shank into the drill press and thread the insert onto the bolt and against the nut.

With the drill press unplugged, you can now use the socket to press the blade into the pilot hole while turning the chuck by hand. After you've screwed the blade into the wood a few turns, you can loosen the drill press chuck and use a wrench to tighten the nut into place to finish the job.
